Where to get money for vacation? On October 27, 2019 by admin
Ah, holidays! Who does not dream about them when work obscures the splendors of everyday life? Everyone deserves rest, also by law. But can everyone afford it? Usually finances and sometimes even demanding jobs stop us from a real vacation. So how do you organize your vacation? Where to get money for vacation?
Leave in the Polish Labor Code
The Polish Labor Code provides each employee employed under an employment contract with appropriate number of vacation days to be used throughout the year.
- If the person has worked less than 10 years – 20 vacation days.
- If a person has worked for at least 10 years – 26 vacation days.
Seniority also includes years of education in:
- high school (upper secondary) – 4 years of service,
- basic (or other equivalent) vocational school – 3 years of service,
- secondary (upper secondary) vocational school – 5 years of service,
- post-secondary school – 6 years of work experience,
- secondary vocational school for graduates of basic (equivalent) vocational schools – no more than 5 years of service,
- college – 8 years of service.
Minimum vacation length
Pursuant to the Polish Labor Code, the employer is obliged to grant the employee a one-off, continuous leave of not less than 14 calendar days. Of course, rest can be longer, but you must remember that it will be the good will of your supervisor. If a longer vacation does not disturb the course of work in the enterprise, and the employer does not mind, then of course you can safely go on a holiday of even 3 – 4 weeks.
The best holiday destinations
Holiday preferences are very different: some love exoticism, hot weather and sunbathing, others focus primarily on cities and sightseeing, while others prefer coldness, remote areas, nature. Which holiday destination should you take?
First you should be guided by your own tastes, especially if they do not conflict with the tastes of other people who are also going to go on vacation. The decision will also certainly be helped by … finances. This is really the only thing that can reduce (but certainly never quench!) The enthusiasm of the traveler. Last minute offers, promotions for two, discounts for children – these are the terms you should look for to go on vacation and not overpay!
Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey remain one of the most popular holiday destinations. Many Poles also go on vacation to Croatia or to the island of Crete or Rhodes . Most people go for trips to places where swimming in the rays of the sun and the sea is not a problem.
Vacations in the countryside
Not everyone, although some probably hard to believe, is attracted by distant trips. On the other hand: do you have to travel to the other end of the world to relax and have fun? Not at all, because we have beautiful corners full of charm in Poland. Guesthouses and hotels in seaside resorts, whether in the lake district, atmospheric lodging in the mountains, or agro-holidays in the picturesque village are just the first examples from the shore.
How much do the holidays cost?
It is impossible to answer this question specifically and unambiguously, because there are so many situations and options that must be taken into account in such calculations that it is difficult to give even a range. Surely you have to carefully compare offers and calculate the budget you need before making your final selection. Maybe renting a cottage on the lake in itself will be cheaper than staying in a nearby hotel, but if after adding the cost of food, and perhaps also the consumption of electricity and water, will the price actually be lower?
Similarly should be followed with travel agencies, which often offer the same hotels and similar trips, but at quite different prices.
