Are You Being Super-Sized?
*Cue Theme from “Jaws”*
Just when you thought it was safe to step back into the fast-food restaurant, IT has happened…
The super-sized drink is back!
In case you haven’t heard, fifteen months after McDonald’s stopped offering “super-sized” portions of fries and drinks, its Chicago-area restaurants are selling extra-large sodas again.
Each of these 42-ounce Cokes contains a whopping 410 calories.
That’s 20% of an average adult male’s daily caloric needs. But more importantly, it’s an incredible 27% of an average adult female’s daily caloric needs.
Just imagine, all those calories in ONE drink.
And it’s not even a nutritious drink at that. So really, there isn’t much point in gulping all that down, is there?
Please, do yourself a favor, and stay away from these empty calories.
Actually, there’s another good reason why you should stay away from these super-sized drinks.
There’s something more insidious at work here than meets the eye. Can you figure out what it is?
I’ll let you think about this for a while, and won’t reveal everything now. But don’t worry, I definitely won’t leave you hanging in suspense forever.
I’ll fill you in on the details in my next blog entry! Stay tuned…
